“NEWS” is actually the word of year 2009 for DOMESTIKA… Experiencing a renewal of its concept and becoming somehow powerful, surrounded by positive energy

What’s Domestika up to these days???

During the last 3 months the band has been working on their first CD, which will have 11 of their original songs. They’ve been working so hard on this project, that this material is due to be finished by mid july of this year, same time that Domestika’s “You’d like to be me” Video will be coming out as well!

July then, appears to be “The month” for Domestika!!

Iwaa Suchi Bar

On 13-06-09, Iwaa Sushi Bar had Domestika as a duet. Mile and Christian got through the repertory in a very energetic way, which got the people highly involved with their performance. As a matter fact, the very owners of this place got so involved, that they immediately dealed with the band, in order to set up permanent shows for the band there.

Consequently, Domestika is going to performe permanently at Iwaa Sushi Bar on its duet version, every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the next months. Sushi & Domestika, something you can’t miss!!

MXI Channel 15 UCR

On 21-05-09 the band had an interview at the music program “Música por Inclusión”. The simple, honest and friendly interviewing way of their hosts Diego and Elisa, let the people know the personalities of the band’s members, and a little bit of their experience as musicians. Domestika played “live” at the studio, 9 of their original songs.

Masmusic Qbico

The concert of 16-05-09 at Qbico for the MasMusic Event showed a more agressive image of the band as they performed their most dynamic and intense songs. People got really involved with the band and because of it there was a lot of interaction with them. The best word to describe this concert is “fun”.

UCreativa Zapote

The concert of 02-04-09 at U Creativa, was an exquisite combination between music, lights and nature. With the stars and a full moon on the sky, Gualicho’s rainforest mural and the park’s nature, this concert became one of the band’s most impressive performance.

23.03.2009

Jazz Café Escazú

The concert of 23-03-09 at “Jazz Café Escazu” again surprised the band, as the assistance was pretty good, considering it was Monday. Sometimes at this places music can be taken more as background, but this time, the attention that the band had was amazing! There was actually deep silence between each song! This concert put Domestika on the map for Mr. Quintana, owner of a chain of important radio stations in Costa Rica.  Accordingly, an alliance between Domestika and the radio station 97.9, was achieved and Domestika’s first single “You’d like to be me” is currently played at 97.9. Some people think there´s something about Domestika; this perception might be because of the honesty and passion that all its members have for music.  This passion reinforces the message that the band wants to give through music; the emotions printed on the songs are delivered in a natural way to the public.

“I hope people can sense the magic I feel in each concert. For me, concerts are like tales, with the ups and downs of quotidian emotions but immersed in the fantasy of music” (Mile).

La Chicha

This concert  at “La Chicha” surprised first of all, the members of the band, as people’s attention and support was felt since the very beginning of the concert and kept until the end. The first set was emotional and intense; the second set was dynamic and funny. One of the best impressions from this concert was the fact that people enjoyed the original tracks as much as they enjoyed the covers. The band received really good feedback from this first concert; people had something positive to say about all the members of the band and about the whole concept itself. This gave Domestika huge motivation, as receiving this kind of comments at this stage is unexpected.
